Meet the Team
Jennifer Dyer, PhD
FounderJennifer Dyer brings more than 25 years of experience in graduate education, research, and academic leadership to every coaching session at The Dissertation Studio. She has served in senior roles, including Associate Dean of the Graduate School, where she oversaw dissertation processes and approvals, supported faculty collaboration, and shaped institutional policy. In addition, she served as Department Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and Doctoral Program Co-Coordinator. She knows how graduate programs work from the inside, which means she knows exactly how to help you navigate them.
As both a dissertation committee member and committee chair for dozens of doctoral candidates, Jennifer has spent her career on both sides of the table. She knows what committee members look for, what derails promising dissertations, and what it takes to walk confidently into a defense room.
That dual perspective, classroom teacher turned senior academic leader, shapes everything about how Jennifer coaches. She understands the full arc from a student sitting at a desk to a scholar defending original research.
Outside the Studio
Jennifer is a proud mom to her daughter and shares her home with two dogs, Sasha and Poppy, and two cats, Samuel and Winstead (who goes by Winny). If you ever hear background noise on a coaching call, it is probably puppy Poppy tormenting one of the cats.
